BIOGRAPHY: Born May 29, 1954, into a military family. I was not exposed to pottery until college, taking my first pottery class in 1975. I became a full time production potter at Silver Dollar City in Branson MO. in 1981. In 1985 I opened my own home studio specializing in crystalline glazed and pierced porcelains. I married in 1976 to Cindy and now have two children Danielle (17) and Marc (13). Besides pottery, I am an avid volleyball player, coach and ref.

ABOUT THE WORK: I work alone in my home studio. I do every step in the process, from throwing, trimming and cutting to glazing and firing. Time, effort and precise control are required to achieve my end product.

ARTIST STATEMENT: I strive to make pretty pots that people want to have in their home and never cease to enjoy. My influences are classic shapes of the Song Dynasty in China and Koryo Dynasty in Korea. Also I've always loved the pottery of the Art Nouveau era, especially that of Adelaide Robineau. I love the challenge of the elusive crystalline glaze and the technical difficulties of totally pierced porcelains. This is just the combination for masochistic potters.
